CHARACTER GENERATOR DESCRIPTION:
The player make a series of choices to generate a character. They use a "Character Sheet" to record their choices.
First, they roll dice and assign the results to their character's basic Attributes (Strength, Wits, Will, Dexterity and Charisma). These attributes will be used to determine all of their beginning skills.
The GM (Game Moderator) then gives the players starting KI (award points) to "spend" in purchasing Martial Arts (i.e., Swordfighting, Knife Fighting, etc.) and Practical Arts (i.e., Stealth, Scaling, etc.) The exact number they need to roll to determine success in their chosen arts is called a "Chance of Success" (C/S). That C/S number is determined by their Attributes. The player needs to roll that number or less on a 20-sided die in order to succeed. Yes, in the LINKrpg System, rolling a "1" is great (a critical success) and rolling a "20" is bad (a critical failure).
If the GM's scenario allows the player to be a Spell-Caster, the player would buy spells using their beginning KI as well.
When their KI is spent, they are ready to play.
As they play, the GM will more award points (KI) that the player can use to improve their C/S number in their chosen arts, or they can use the points to buy new arts or spells. There are other things that KI can be used for, and is it all explained in the Character Generator section of the LINKrpg System.
